Ripple-like waves in finished flooring that become visibly pronounced in reflective overhead and/or natural lighting. These marks almost never constitute a real concern or impair the playability or performance of the floor because the ripple effect is not perceptible to the touch. Chatter marks will often diminish or even disappear as the floor finish experiences wear through use and with age.
