During Drenik’s tenure with 3M, he sold to the Cincinnati Floor Company and met Jim Stoehr. Subsequently, in September of 1969, he came to work for the Cincinnati Floor Company. He worked in the Cincinnati area for approximately three years learning the contracting business and the sports flooring business before moving in 1972 to run the Indianapolis office of Cincinnati Floor. During that time he was very active with the WSFI, serving them as President in 1983.
In the fall of 1988, Drenik purchased the Cincinnati Floor Company from the Stoehr family. Over the last 20 years, the Cincinnati Floor Company has grown steadily under Doug’s leadership. Drenik has been a leader in promoting MFMA maple sports flooring and quality systems. He was one of the charter members of the MFMA Advisory Council and served on the MFMA Technical Committee as the MFMA ushered in the DIN testing criteria. During his career he has promoted the value of the MFMA to countless architects and mentored many newcomers to the industry.
