To ensure a successful synthetic floor installation, WSFI recommends following their recommended job site preparations and environmental conditions. The following may occur before, during, or after installation. Please refer to the synthetic flooring manufacturers specifications for their particular recommendations.
  • The general contractor shall provide a concrete slab, troweled smooth and level to a tolerance of +/- 1/8" in a 10' radius, care should be taken to not over power trowel the concrete slab, subject to the approval of the WSFI Sport Floor Contractor.
  • The general contractor shall provide a dry concrete slab within the WSFI standards for moisture content. The flooring contractor shall verify slab conditions prior to the commencement of any installation to ensure compliance with flooring manufacturer specifications.
  • Permanent heat, light and ventilation shall be installed and operating before, during and after installation, controlling a temperature range compatible with expected environmental conditions when the facility is occupied.
  • The synthetic flooring shall not be delivered or installed until all masonry, plastering/dry walling, tile and overhead mechanical trades are complete. All finish and/or wet trades, such as concrete, painting, etc. should be completed and dry prior to delivery. The building must be enclosed and weather tight.

The WSFI recommends consulting with your WSFI Sport Floor Contractor or WSFI Synthetic Floor Supplier if any or all of the recommendation above are not complete.
