JOHN HAMAR LEAVES A LEGACY.

It is with great sadness that we announce that MFMA Hall of Fame member, John Hamar, passed away July 17, 2017.

John Hamar began his career in the manufacturing of maple flooring over 50 years ago when he was hired as General Manager of Horner Flooring. John led the MFMA as the President of its board of directors from 1970 to 1975.

John’s leadership traits were recognized by many in the wood flooring industry as evidenced by his being requested to serve, and his tenure, on the board of directors of the jointly sponsored MFMA / NOFMA Hardwood Installation School. Further, John was one of the members of the founding board of directors of the National Wood Flooring Association. Education had been a focal point in John’s career and personal life.

A memorial service will be held for John at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chassell, Reverend Dr. Philip Johnson to officiate.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017, at the church and one hour prior to services.
